Love at first sight

We had been dreaming of the day Gemma would meet her sister since the very moment we found out we were expecting. We played out all of the possible scenarios. Would she be jealous? Indifferent? happy?  Did she really understand what it meant that there was a baby in Mommas belly? So much anticipation.
And after some general confusion and asking "Momma, you alright?" she was so excited to meet baby Edie. She kept squealing and saying "she's so cute." We were thrilled when she wanted to hold her. Since that initial meeting and getting home Gemma would insist, "oh, I take her" every time she wanted a chance to hold Edie. We really had to watch her so she wouldn't just snag her. All in all though she is very helpful.
Since that first week home she has become much more indifferent. She's almost two so is having more and more tantrums with every day so emotions are hard. We are very grateful that her jealousy is directed at Tim and I and so far no aggression has been toward Edith.
