Who's who and what's what?

 Welcome friends! I'm Rylee
And thanks for moseying yourself on over to My Life, My Sweetness.

Let's just start off with a quick introduction to the Creative Staff here. Obviously I'm the Writer and my husband Tim, through no choice of his own, has been serving as Editor-in-Matrimony since August 9, 2014 (though he consulted for the position long before that).

This space has seen so much growth over the past three years and has followed me in the steps of my  Vocation. I married my high school sweetheart the summer after graduating from college and Tim and I have been faking adulthood ever since. We lived in Boston for a bit, which was a true joy but are back to our nation's Capital now. Tim keeps me grounded in constantly reminding me that I don't need to mop the floor by hand in order to be the 'perfect mom' I always thought I was supposed to be.

Speaking of, Gemma Brigid made us parents in September 2015 and this cute booger is the highlight of every hour of every day. If you don't believe that you should just see the sheer number of pictures that go unposted. And if you don't think she's cute I don't know that we can be friends because I am stubbornly convinced of that.
I love using this space as a scrapbook of sorts and documenting how our family grows and adventures in the day to day. I struggled for a long time that I was presenting a false face while blogging, pretending to have everything together when I so obviously do not. But I've reflected a lot on my reasons for writing and been brought back to this thought from C.S. Lewis:
"What is the good in pretending to be what you are not? Well, even on the human level, you know, there are two kinds of pretending. There is the bad kind, where the pretense is there instead of the real thing. But there is also a good kind, where the pretense leads up to the real thing... You see what is happening. The Christ Himself, the Son of God who is man (just like you) and God (just like His Father) is actually at your side and is already at that moment beginning to turn your pretense into a reality." -Mere Christianity

So here's to pretending for the right reasons and being heavy, deep, and real for all the others.

Now the challenge is to keep posting in a timely manner.
But I doubt it.
